Slingshot is a community-powered decentralized AI infrastructure network. But it didn't start there.
Between 2022 and 2024, the Slingshot community — a decentralized collective with no traditional studio backing — produced over 12 games on Roblox, built a fully functional game launchpad at slingshotdao.com, and coordinated hundreds of contributors across Discord, design, development, and marketing.
The games didn't monetize the way the market demanded. The GameFi wave receded. But the culture survived. The builders stayed. The community stayed. And that is the foundation everything that follows is built upon.
Slingshot proved that a decentralized, community-first collective can coordinate, ship, and grow real products used by real people. That builder DNA — the ethos of showing up, contributing, and pushing things forward together — is what defines Slingshot. Not a game. Not a token. A culture of building.
We didn't pivot away from who we are. We pivoted into what the world needs next.

Slingshot is a decentralized network that powers a token-driven AI ecosystem. It exists at the intersection of three forces: community coordination (the people who show up and contribute), AI infrastructure (the products and tools being powered), and token utility (the economic fuel that connects them).
Where Slingshot once powered a launchpad for games, it now powers the infrastructure layer for AI. The mechanism is the same: a community identifies high-potential products, supports their development, markets them through its network, and captures value through its native token. The domain has changed. The DNA has not.

We are in the early phase of an unprecedented proliferation of AI tools. Every week, thousands of new AI applications launch: image generators, code assistants, writing tools, research agents, data analyzers. Most of them are built by small teams or solo developers. Most of them have no distribution, no payment system, and no community. This is the exact gap Slingshot was built to fill.
AI agents are beginning to operate autonomously: booking services, making purchases, calling APIs, and coordinating with other agents. These agents need a native transaction layer. They cannot use credit cards. They cannot sign terms of service. They need programmable, permissionless money. Crypto is the natural economic layer for autonomous agents, and $SHOT is purpose-built for this use case.
The AI industry is consolidating around a few massive companies. But the most vibrant innovation is happening at the edges: in open-source communities, indie developers, and decentralized teams. Slingshot provides these builders with something they cannot get from OpenAI or Google: community-owned infrastructure with built-in distribution, token economics, and marketing support.
Slingshot already has a token: $SLING. It served the project during the GameFi era. But $SLING cannot serve the new mission, for several specific reasons:

$SHOT is an ERC-20 utility token on Base (Coinbase L2) with a fixed supply of 1 billion, no minting, and continuous burn pressure. Its design incorporates four interlocking mechanisms:
Every Powered by Slingshot product accepts both fiat and $SHOT. Users who pay in $SHOT receive 20-30% off vs fiat pricing. The discount is the product's customer acquisition cost — cheaper and more effective than paid advertising. The protocol earns revenue only on $SHOT transactions, creating direct alignment between token usage and ecosystem growth.
$SHOT uses a five-tier staking model. The more you stake, the more you earn. Stakers receive a share of protocol fees proportional to their stake and access to the Perks Hub, which offers exclusive discounts from partner AI tools. A time-weighted multiplier rewards long-term commitment: stake for a year and your fee share doubles.
A 5% protocol fee is collected on all $SHOT transactions and routed through the FeeRouter contract: 35% is permanently burned (reducing supply), 35% is distributed to stakers (passive yield), and 30% flows to the ecosystem treasury (funding development). Every transaction makes $SHOT scarcer. Every new product adds more burn pressure.
Slingshot operates GPU infrastructure where builders deploy AI agents paying $SHOT per API call. This is the most reliable fee generator: if an agent is running, it's paying. As autonomous agents proliferate, $SHOT becomes their native payment rail — agent-to-agent commerce, permissionless, programmable, and instant.
Slingshot doesn't build products — it powers them. Every product and project that chooses the Slingshot platform and $SHOT token to start their journey gets the infrastructure, distribution, and community behind them. This creates a flywheel: more products, more utility, more demand, more builders, more products.

The ecosystem is permissionless. Any team can build a product that integrates $SHOT as its payment layer and plugs into the FeeRouter. The Slingshot treasury funds promising projects through community grants.

The most important bet Slingshot is making is that AI agents will become autonomous economic actors within the next 2-3 years. When they do, they will need:
